Portneuf Valley Farmers Market First Weekend in May to the Last Weekend in October
Thank you for wanting to perform at our market. We are so glad you will be with us. Market Manager has emailed your datesand you are set to perform at the market and now you are booked. Please see the rules below and submit the form as a contract between you and the PVFM.
The Market is in its 35th successful year of operation in Pocatello and now in its beautiful, open-air venue at the Lookout Point every Saturday from May through October from 9 AM to 1 PM (2PM on some Special Event days). Musicians are expected to perform a minimum of 3.5 hours from 930am-1pm with appropriate breaks as needed, until 2pm on event days such as Family Fun Day or Harvest Festival. Please play a music track during breaks.
The market agrees to pay a $250 stipend per performance and musicians are encouraged to set up a tip jar. Musicians are also encouraged to bring banners, signage, T-shirts, or other promotional music related items for sale. All Vendors, as well as Musicians, are required to unload equipment and then move vehicle to the designated parking to allow others access. No driving into the market during market hours of 8:30AM-1PM. If you need to drive equipment into the market, please arrive prior to 8:15AM.
The Market will provide a electricity, a small table and chairs, if needed. The Musician will provide sound equipment, microphones, and extension cords.
Performers are agreeing to do the following to perform at the market:
1. To check in with the market manager by 9:00AM on the day of the market.
2. Send pictures to the market manager 14 days prior to the performance and agree to allow them to be used in marketing materials.
a. The market manager will send you a proof of the ad for use that week. You agree to allow the same ad for multiple dates of performances.
b. Changes to pictures must be sent to market manager at least 14 days prior to the day of performance.
3. Take no more than 15-minute-long breaks during sets.
4. Please have a pre-recorded background set for break times. Please no ‘dead air’ time.
5. To monitor volume of the music throughout the time of playing and be aware that communicating with customers is vital for vendors during the market. If asked to lower the volume, please do so as quickly as possible.
6. Please be mindful of the family friendly venue and agree to keep the lyrics kid safe and politically correct.
7. Cancellation shall be at least 6 days prior to the day of performance.
a. No-shows without communication to the manager could result in the market cancelling remaining dates in the season.
b. Multiple cancellations with or without notice of your time to perform may result in being cancelled for the remainder of the season.
8. The market reserves the right to cancel the music for a market day, due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
9. Payment for your performance will be at the end of the day of performance and may be in cash or Venmo. The payment will be to the representative of the musician in the event of multiple performers.
10. Special event performances may end up having more than one type of entertainment. Please agree to allow us time to talk or announce during these events.
Agreeing to perform at the market states that you are aware of U.S. Copyright Law and fully respect its authority about the playing of live music. The market will purchase ASCAP rights for music.
